I planned my route on google maps and estimated 7-10 days driving depending on the road conditions and weather. I planned more days in the Yukon territory because I heard the road is usually covered in snow in that area, soooooooo I guess I will be driving at very low speeds through that area.

I had another option, Drive to Billingham, WA 3,000 plus miles from New Haven and take the ferry to Haines, AK. (in the winter the ferry don't go to Whittier) The problem with that route is that the ferry only leaves on Fridays in the winter, takes 2.5 days to get there and I still have to drive over 700 miles to get to Anchorage. all of this will cost me more money and it will take me the same amount of days. I will end up driving almost 4,000 miles and spending $2,000 more on the ferry. Here is that map.

I'm 3 days out from starting this road trip. I really don't know how this is going to go but I am very exited for this new adventure. I checked the weather in Canada and Alaska I even used the live cameras to see the road conditions and all looks good. I am driving someones car there it is a 2016 Subaru outback with all weather tires, engine warmer and battery warmer. the plugs look kinda weird on the grill. I also got extension cord, ice scraper, and sleeping bags AND VERY IMPORTANT!!! a copy of the 2015 milepost!!!!!!
T-minus 2 days for the start of my trip. I hope I remember to update this blog when i finish the trip to give some ideas to others.
P.S. You probably noticed reading that this is written by a foreigner (from Spain). So please excuse my grammar errors. I only wrote this blog out of excitement and trying to help other that may researching the ways they can get to AK.
